The original chefs Lee Yeon-bok, Raymond Kim, and Jeong Ho-young will present a three-course set to compete against Imokase.
In the 60th episode of the MBC entertainment program "It's a relief to take a break," which will air at 9 p.m. on the 11th, the original chef trio Lee Yeon-bok, Raymond Kim, and Jeong Ho-young will be joined by Kim Mi-ryeong from Imokase, unveiling a monumental chef crew undertaking a desert island restaurant operation. The assistant chefs include Han Ji-hye, Yoo Hee-kwan, and Nam Chang-hee, while in the studio, "CEO Ahn" Ahn Jung-hwan, Boom, Kim Min-kyung, and announcer Park Ji-min will observe them.
In particular, on this day, Imokase will draw attention by changing from hanbok to work attire before going out for seaurchin fishing. The studio reacted with surprise, saying, "It's the first time I see Imokase out of hanbok."
Ahead of the full-scale desert island restaurant operation, Imokase provokes Lee Yeon-bok, Raymond Kim, and Jeong Ho-young by stating, "I will overwhelm the original chefs." In response, the trio prepares a counterattack with a three-course set comprising Chinese, Western, and Japanese cuisines.
The trio will create their menu by utilizing their special skills. First, Chinese culinary master Lee Yeon-bok states, "Even if customers ask for dumplings in the restaurant, I don't make them, but today I will make a one-of-a-kind dumpling that can only be tasted on this desert island," revealing his unique determination. Western food expert Raymond Kim will prepare steaks that bring out the best flavors, while Japanese food master Jeong Ho-young will complete sushi using fresh ingredients, aiming to tantalize the guests' palates.
Despite the harsh conditions of the desert island, the trio completes their dishes with innovative ideas and perfect teamwork, employing their know-how. Observers in the studio reportedly marveled, saying, "Indeed, the original chefs are different." Interest is growing in whether Imokase's Korean cuisine can surpass the original chefs' three-course set.
