MBC's 'Home Alone' recorded the highest rating of 2049 across all genres for the first week of August 2025.
On the broadcast aired on the 8th, 'Home Alone' (directed by Heo Hang, Kang Ji-hee, Kim Jin-kyung, Lee Kyung-eun, Moon Gi-young) showcased Guseong-hwan's exploration of his beloved neighborhood where he has lived for 45 years, along with Code Kunst, who is cleaning their studio with the help of his close friends and SHINee's Minho, a friend's younger brother.
According to the audience rating survey company Nielsen Korea, 'Home Alone's' key 2049 rating was 3.4% (based on Seoul metropolitan area), securing the top spot among all programs on Fridays, as well as ranking first among all programs aired in the last week.
The title of the best moment went to Guseong-hwan, known as 'Goo Jeo-ssi.' The sight of him visiting a neighbor with a watermelon, only to receive a basket full of produce from her rooftop garden in return, caught the attention of viewers. All members of the Rainbow group envied the warm 'community spirit' shared between the two, which peaked the highest rating at 7.7%.
Guseong-hwan, who has lived for 45 years in 'Cross Star Village' (a village where veterans gather), shared that despite his physical discomfort, he has always learned to grow positive and not lose his smile by observing his neighborhood's residents.
Meanwhile, Code Kunst requested help from his long-time friends and SHINee's Minho, a friend's younger brother, for a thorough cleaning of the studio. After finishing the cleaning, they headed to an indoor sports game venue where they competed in a 2-on-2 rice betting challenge. Contrary to expectations, the game proceeded in an unexpected manner, prompting advice from the Rainbow members. In response, Kian84 suggested a 'Home Alone Sports Tournament,' and after the broadcast, viewers expressed excitement for the event, saying, 'I can't wait for the Home Alone sports tournament,' and 'Is it a Chuseok special?'
The broadcast scheduled for the 15th (Friday) has teased the first start of Jeon Hyun-moo's 'Filial Piety 5-Year Project' and the appearance of Go Kang-yong, known as the 'Godly life announcer,' as he visits a baseball stadium to pursue his dream of becoming a sports caster.
