CORTIS, consisting of Martin, James, Juhun, Seonghyun, and Gunho, posted their debut album's first concept photo for 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES' on their official social media at midnight on the 11th. The released images were taken in downtown Los Angeles and at a tram station. Like the tram that runs through the city, the photos embody CORTIS's ambition to break into the center of the global music scene with their creations. The members in the photos take poses freely, sitting on the ground or standing on chairs without hesitation. Each unique pose and gaze showcases their individual personalities.
Born in 2008, Martin is the team leader. He possesses both a solid skill set developed over six years of training and innate talent. Martin gained recognition as a 'teen producer' by participating in multiple song projects before debuting. He has credits for TOMORROW X TOGETHER's 'Deja Vu' and 'Miracle (The miracle happens every moment we are together)', 'Beautiful Strangers', ENHYPEN's 'Outside', ILLIT's 'Magnetic'.
James, born in 2005, is the eldest member of the team. He is the 'idea bank' who brings energy to music, choreography, and video work. James has demonstrated exceptional creativity since his trainee days. He participated in choreography for TOMORROW X TOGETHER's 'Deja Vu' and ILLIT's 'Magnetic', 'Cherish (My Love)', 'Tick-Tack', and contributed to the songwriting for 'Deja Vu', 'Miracle (The miracle happens every moment we are together)', and 'Magnetic' alongside Martin.
Juhun, born in 2008, serves as the central figure in the team, gathering members' opinions to create key content together. Having worked as a model in his childhood, he possesses a deep understanding of photography and video, along with strong stage presence. Seonghyun, born in 2009, is the youngest member with only about five years of training. He demonstrates outstanding talents in dancing and singing, with over 100 tracks worked on during his trainee period. Gunho, also born in 2009, drew attention for his visuals right after their reveal and is part of the youngest line of the team. His youthful vocal tone is appealing, and he stands out in both performance and music production.
Martin, James, Juhun, Seonghyun, and Gunho are part of the 'Young Creator Crew', collaborating in music, choreography, and video creation. They are ready to present works made with different thoughts and new perspectives, as implied by their group name, which means 'to think freely beyond the standards and rules set by the world.'
CORTIS will unveil a conceptual performance film featuring the choreography of the introductory track 'GO!' from their debut album at midnight on the 12th. They will follow up with the release of the title track 'What You Want' on the 18th at 6 p.m., showcasing the true value of the 'Young Creator Crew'. Their debut album 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES' will be officially released on September 8 at 6 p.m. The album will be available for pre-order starting from 11 a.m. on August 11.
