Lee Bo-young played the role of 'Woo So-jung,' an emergency medicine doctor at Bunseong General Hospital, in the MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'Mary Kills People' (planned by Kwon Seong-chang, directed by Park Jun-woo, written by Lee Soo-ah, produced by Mister Romance, Moving Pictures Company, Studio Anja Ilren), which aired on the 9th.
After the operation to apprehend Woo So-jung fell through, the police began a search and seizure operation targeting Woo So-jung at Bunseong General Hospital. As the head of the emergency room, Woo So-jung informed the chief nurse to call a lawyer and advised the police to be cautious not to disrupt treatment, managing the situation with clarity.
Woo So-jung had also anticipated the police's movements. As Koo Gwang-cheol's rampage endangered innocent hospital staff, Woo So-jung ultimately handed Kim Si-hyun a pair of scissors, becoming a voluntary hostage. This choice highlighted her sense of duty as a doctor to protect patients.
Meanwhile, when a terminally ill stomach cancer patient repeatedly refused tests due to concerns about medical bills, Woo So-jung had her write a voluntary discharge request. Concerned about the patient, she showed her deeper side by handing over a note with the address of the hospital run by Yang Sin-bu.
