'Detectives' Trade Secrets' engages in a thrilling chase with a new online tool community scammer, saying, 'It's not over until it's over', but is shocked to hear news that the scammer has returned just two hours after being apprehended by the police.
On Nov. 11, Channel A's 'Detectives' Trade Secrets' will launch a full-scale investigation into the 'new type of scammer' that occurred in an online tool community with approximately 700 members.
Earlier, the client found 'Detectives' Trade Secrets' after saying, 'I transferred money after seeing a post selling a 2 kg beef gift set for 60,000 won.' In the victim group formed by the client, dozens of victims had been swindled using the same method.
The second client who contacted the Owl Detective Team expressed frustration, saying, 'I was deceived by the offer of giving me 2 king crabs for 70,000 won along with 10 snow crabs.' Upon investigation, it was revealed that the scammer had tricked victims into transferring money into accounts of motels and fried chicken shops, later using those funds for their accommodation and food expenses.
The Owl Detective Team analyzed recent victim reports and identified that the scammer's movements were concentrated in a specific motel district, initiating a thorough inquiry. During their investigation, a motel owner, upon seeing a photo of the scammer, expressed anger saying, 'I know this person. I was swindled too!' The motel's account had been used in the scam and registered as a scam account, suffering severe damages.
In particular, the motel owner vented, 'Would such a thing ever happen in the movies? Even at this moment, this person is scamming!' Furthermore, eyewitness accounts regarding the scammer flooded in from other nearby motels and fried chicken shops.
Meanwhile, the Owl Detective Team receives news from the first client stating, 'The scammer has been caught by the police.' Just when the case concerning the 'new type of scammer' was thought to be closed, unexpected circumstances arose a few days later. Reports came in that the scammer was scamming again less than two hours after being apprehended by the police.
The secret behind the ongoing scam activities even after police apprehension, and the baffling chase between the scammer and the Owl Detective Team will be aired on Monday, Nov. 11, at 9:30 p.m. on Channel A's 'Detectives' Trade Secrets'.
