MBN 'Let's Go Go' Kim Soo-chan revealed an unexpected episode.
The 6th episode of season 5 of MBN 'Let's Go Go,' which aired on the 9th, featured the trot four siblings, including trot goddess Yang Ji-eun, Kim Soo-chan, Shin Seong, and Kang Hye-yeon, who captivated the eyes and ears of the nation with their trot performances.
MC Ahn Jung-hwan and Hong Hyun-hee were invited to a mini concert on the bus featuring the trot four siblings, exchanging various event episodes along with the fantastic live performance of the trot four siblings. While sharing unique event experiences, Kim Soo-chan mentioned, "A lady from a well-known large corporation said she likes me, so I was invited to the event, but she only specified to sing two songs rather than more."
He continued, "I am well-known as a disciple of Master Nam-jin, and during that event, someone said, 'I want to hear the song that Soo-chan sings by Na Hoon-a.'" He also stated, "They even invited an orchestra to perform behind me." When MC Hong Hyun-hee asked, "Then what was the fee?" Kim Soo-chan replied, "It was double the usual amount," surprising everyone.
While discussing various event phrases, Yang Ji-eun said, "I'm the type to compete with my songs," to which Shin Seong, who looked flustered, responded, "That's because you came in first. As soon as you get on stage, people cheer, so it's possible to perform with singing."
Yang Ji-eun added, "Because of the pressure of having placed first, I think, 'I need to wow everyone with my live performance.' I try to sing at least one more song. And hearing the words, 'You sing really well,' gives me a sense of fulfillment," allowing a glimpse into Yang Ji-eun's style of competing through vocal ability rather than words.
Later, the MCs and the trot four siblings, who were invited to the Gangnam house of Yang Ji-eun, who lives with her family, looked at her minimalistic house, which resembled a model house, and questioned, "Did you move out?" "Is this really a house?" "Isn't it a model house?" However, upon seeing hidden items throughout the house, their skepticism faded.
While enjoying the food prepared by Yang Ji-eun, which was filled with the scent of Jeju Island, the MCs and the trot four siblings continued the conversation, curious about how Yang Ji-eun met her husband. Yang Ji-eun revealed, "We met through an introduction via acquaintances as we graduated from the same school. We spent about 10 months as friends before dating and got married in 4 months."
When asked by Yang Ji-eun, "What did you like about your husband?" she said, "He donated a kidney to my father, which made him someone who had to undergo check-ups for life. Everyone told him to hide that fact, but since I couldn't do that, I mentioned it early in our relationship, and my husband seemed to like it even more. I was thankful because he viewed what I thought of as a flaw as a positive aspect. That's probably why our marriage progressed quickly."
She also expressed her gratitude toward her husband when asked, "Has he changed after your success?" Yang Ji-eun said, "He's the same," conveying her appreciation for her husband, who quietly supported and helped her pursue her singing career. Yang Ji-eun noted, "I want to do something big for my husband, but he says he doesn't need anything," adding, "So I bought him a car," showing off her generous gesture to everyone's admiration.
Yang Ji-eun also expressed her special feelings towards her father. Gaining attention for undergoing a kidney transplant for her ailing father, Yang Ji-eun touched the MCs, who were impressed with her difficult decision, as she said, "I didn't want my sister or brother to do it. I just wanted to do it myself." Additionally, Yang Ji-eun shared, "During the competition, my father rode a bicycle handing out papers saying, 'Vote for my daughter Yang Ji-eun.' Friends contacted me saying, 'Your dad is encouraging votes for you.'" She conveyed her gratitude towards her father.
In particular, recalling the moment she won first place, Yang Ji-eun recalled, "My father said, 'I have no regrets even if I die.'" The MCs expressed, "It's a relief that he got to see you happy after your success. If it hadn't happened, it would have continued to weigh on his heart." Yang Ji-eun likewise said, "That's right. It would have remained on my mind," and added, "My father has had the greatest influence on my musical career. He has made me feel both the deepest pain and the greatest joy. I was able to pursue trot because of my father." She expressed her heartfelt feelings once again, evoking emotion.
