The trot four siblings who appeared on MBN's 'Let's Go Go' captured viewers' hearts with various episodes ranging from a mini concert to heartfelt confessions towards their parents.
In the 6th episode of season 5 of MBN's 'Let's Go Go,' broadcast on the 4th, the trot four siblings, who captured the eyes and ears of the nation with their trot performances, appeared, including the trot goddess Yang Ji-eun, Kim Soo-chan, Shin Sung, and Kang Hye-yeon.
MCs Ahn Jung-hwan and Hong Hyun-hee were invited to the trot four siblings' super mini concert inside a bus, and they exchanged various event episodes along with the fantastic live performance of the trot four siblings. While sharing unique event experiences, Kim Soo-chan noted, "I was invited to the event because a CEO's wife, someone everyone knows, liked me, but she only specified two songs instead of many."
He continued, "I am well-known as a disciple of Nam Jin, and at that time, they asked, 'I want to hear you sing a song by Nah Hoon-ah,'" and added, "They even invited an orchestra behind me." When MC Hong Hyun-hee asked, "Then what was the fee?" Kim Soo-chan replied, "It was twice as much as usual," surprising everyone.
While discussing various event remarks, Yang Ji-eun said, "I am the type who competes with singing," and a flustered Shin Sung replied, "That's because you came in first. As soon as you get on stage, people will cheer, and that's how you can sing."
Yang Ji-eun then said, "Because of the pressure of being in first place, I think, 'I have to blow them away with a live performance.' I try to sing even one more song. And I need to hear someone say, 'You sing really well' to feel relieved." This reflected Yang Ji-eun's style of competing with her vocal talent rather than her words.
Later, after being invited to Yang Ji-eun's home in Gangnam, where she lives with her family, MCs and the trot four siblings saw a minimalistic house that resembled a model home and questioned, "Did you rent this place?" and "Is this really a house?" but they dropped their doubts after seeing hidden items throughout the house.
Afterward, while enjoying the food that Yang Ji-eun prepared, which was rich in the scent of Jeju Island, the MCs and the trot four siblings became curious about how Yang Ji-eun met her husband, and Yang Ji-eun revealed, "We met through an introduction by a mutual friend since we graduated from the same school. We dated for about 10 months as friends and got married after four months of dating," surprising everyone.
When asked, "What did you like about your husband?" Yang Ji-eun answered, "He became someone who had to be tested for life after donating a kidney to my dad. Everyone asked me to hide that fact, but I couldn't. I told him early in our relationship, and he actually liked it better. I was grateful to have someone who told me that what I thought was a flaw was actually a positive point. That's why our marriage progressed quickly."
Also, when asked, "Has your husband changed after your success?" Yang Ji-eun said, "He's the same," while expressing her gratitude towards her husband, who quietly supported and helped her in her singing career. Yang Ji-eun mentioned, "I want to do something big for my husband, but he says he needs nothing," and revealed, "So I bought him a car," which drew admiration.
Yang Ji-eun also conveyed her special feelings toward her father. She drew attention for deciding to donate a kidney to her ill father, and when moved MCs asked her how difficult that decision was, she said, "I didn't want my sister or brother to do it. I just wanted to do it myself." Yang Ji-eun also shared, "During the competition, my father rode his bicycle around with a piece of paper that said, 'Please vote for my daughter Yang Ji-eun.' Friends contacted me saying, 'Your dad is campaigning (for votes).'"
In particular, Yang Ji-eun reminisced about the moment she got 1st place, saying, "My father said, 'I have no regrets even if I die,'" to which the MCs responded, "It's a relief he got to see you happy while doing well; otherwise, it would have been hard for him." Yang Ji-eun also replied, "That's right. I think it would have always stayed in my heart," noting, "My father is the person who has influenced my musical life the most. He made me feel both the most pain and joy. Thanks to him, I was able to pursue trot music," once again expressing her heartfelt feelings, moving everyone.
