Crystal from As One expressed her sorrow at suddenly parting with her other half, Imin. Colleagues, including Kim Jo-han and Park Ki-young, also mourned together.
On the 10th, Crystal posted on her personal social media, "The past few days have been the most challenging time of my life. My partner who was always by my side when I sang, my best friend, my other half… after saying goodbye to Min… I feel as if a part of my heart has been torn away. That emptiness will never be filled. When I think of Min, I think of Crystal; we were always a pair. Having lived together for more than half of our lives, breathing, eating, laughing, crying… we truly shared the same life."
She added, "I had no intention of posting something like this. It's too hard, and even speaking about it is difficult. But thanks to the love and comfort you have sent, I've come to realize that this sorrow is not mine alone. I have been reminded that many people who cherished and loved Min share the same feelings as I do."
Imin and Crystal debuted in 1999 with As One's first album, 'Day By Day,' and released many hit songs such as 'What You Want and Resent,' 'You Don't Know,' 'No Way,' 'Love+,' and 'Mr. Ajo.' They established themselves as legends of the Korean R&B female duo and received tremendous love from music fans. She was found dead at her home in Seoul on the evening of the 5th. She was 46 years old. It is reported that her husband discovered her after returning home from work. Following the family's wishes, the funeral was held quietly, with the service conducted on the morning of the 9th.
Crystal said, "Min was love itself. She loved shopping, enjoyed food, laughed a lot, and would wait for hours for delicious food. Above all, she was someone who always cared for those around her and generously shared the love she had. She was the warmest soul I met in my life. In the past few days, I spent time reminiscing about the precious people who shared our lives over the past 26 years along with Min. Even amid painful memories, warm moments came to mind, and thanks to those I met again, I was able to smile for a moment. However, I never expected to walk this journey for this reason," she revealed.
She continued, "Thank you sincerely. Every bit of your love, memory, and warm words has been a great comfort. Because of you, we could do what we love most all along and could unite on stage. Thank you so much. Yesterday, we laid Min to rest beautifully. Now she will be freely flying in a better place. Since she was someone who could never sit still, she is probably somewhere smiling busily even now," she reminisced.
She added, "Brand New Music, Rhymer. Thank you for always being by our side for over 20 years, and for loving Min as much as I do, and for being there to make her last journey beautiful. Thank you so much for creating space for me to endure this time. Now Min will be resting comfortably with her mother, who always cared for her, and with Jjang-a and Toby. That thought has brought some comfort to my heart. I will miss you every day, every moment. My other half, my friend, my family, my other me. Forever As One."
Kim Jo-han, upon seeing Crystal's heartfelt message, commented, "A true diamond. I will miss you, but I will never forget you." Kwon Soon-il from Urban Zakapa sent encouragement, saying, "Sister, stay strong," while Park Ki-young expressed sadness with, "Our Crystal… let's stay strong… I will pray for you, especially whenever I miss you."
