The members of 'HYBE Music Rookie' CORTIS all participated in the production of their debut album.
CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Seonghyeon, Gunho) revealed the tracklist for their debut album 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES' through a 24-hour premiere ongoing on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel on the 10th.
The new release includes a total of five tracks, including the title track 'What You Want', 'GO!', 'FaSHioN', 'JoyRide', and 'Lullaby'. Despite being a debut album, all members have their names credited. Notably, more than three members participated in writing and composing all the tracks, demonstrating a high level of contribution. This aligns with their identity as a 'Young Creator Crew' that co-creates music, choreography, and videos.
The title track 'What You Want' features a blend of boom bap rhythm and psychedelic rock guitar riffs popular in the 1960s. It ignites curiosity by choosing an experimental genre rarely seen in K-pop groups.
The intro track 'GO!' stands out with its originality straddling the boundaries of hip hop and pop. All members are credited. The uniquely titled 'FaSHioN' piques curiosity with participation from Martin, Juhun, Seonghyeon, and Gunho in the song's creation.
'JoyRide' is a track co-written and co-composed by all members alongside 'GO!'. The final track 'Lullaby' is produced primarily by Martin, with contributions from James and Seonghyeon, raising expectations.
CORTIS's debut album 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES' will be officially released on Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. Prior to that, the title track 'What You Want' will be available as a digital single on the 18th at 6 p.m.
CORTIS is set to reveal themselves properly through the music video for the intro track 'GO!', which will be released on the 11th at midnight. The 'GO!' conceptual performance film, to be introduced at midnight on the 12th, will focus on the choreography and clearly showcase the identity of the team, which co-creates performances. Composed entirely of teenagers, they are set to unveil their creations to the world with a name that conveys the meaning of thinking freely outside the criteria and rules established by society.
