'Trustworthy listeners' MONSTA X (MONSTA X: Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Jooheon, IM) raised the heat of their comeback by revealing the tracklist for their new album.
The agency Starship Entertainment released an image of the tracklist for the new mini album 'THE X' scheduled for release on Sept. 1 through MONSTA X's official SNS on the 8th.
According to the released tracklist, the new album 'THE X' includes the pre-released track 'Do What I Want' and the title track 'N the Front,' along with four other diverse songs: 'Savior,' 'Tuscan Leather,' 'Catch Me Now,' and 'Fire & Ice.'
Having demonstrated their capabilities as a 'self-producing' group by including self-composed songs in each album, MONSTA X has once again elevated their musical completeness with contributions from Hyungwon, Jooheon, and IM on multiple tracks for this new album. Notably, Jooheon participated in the creation of four tracks, including his self-composed songs 'Do What I Want' and 'Tuscan Leather,' continuing to embody the moniker 'the steering wheel of MONSTA X's music,' while IM also made an impression by contributing to the credits of four songs, including his self-composed song 'Savior.' Additionally, Hyungwon added strength to the album by infusing authenticity into his self-composed song 'Fire & Ice.'
Recently, during their debut 10th anniversary full group concert '2025 MONSTA X CONNECT X,' MONSTA X surprised fans by unveiling the stage for 'Fire & Ice,' a song in which Hyungwon participated in the lyrics, composition, and arrangement, receiving enthusiastic responses from fans. 'Fire & Ice' is a song that expresses love that transcends different forms by utilizing the extremes of hot and cold emotions, characterized by a melody that combines house and R&B influences.
As MONSTA X realistically captures their unique captivating mood, expectations have heightened for the pre-released track 'Do What I Want' set to be unveiled on the 18th and the title track 'N the Front' scheduled for release on Sept. 1. In particular, 'Do What I Want' is a song with lyrics and composition by Jooheon and lyrics by IM, drawing attention to what kind of musical synergy the two will showcase.
The new album 'THE X' is a symbolic work that encapsulates MONSTA X's journey over the past 10 years since their debut in 2015.
