Entertainer Kim Byeong-man officially terminated his parental rights over the daughter of his ex-wife A after a long legal battle, completing the closure of his previous marriage. He had endured emotional turmoil, even shedding tears, which has garnered much support.
On the 8th, the Seoul Family Court ruled in favor of Kim Byeong-man's petition for parental termination against B. As a result, Kim Byeong-man has completely finished his legal ties with his ex-wife ahead of his upcoming marriage scheduled for September. The agency Sky Turtle stated to OSEN, "The court approved the parental termination due to the recognized immoral act resulting from B's unfounded accusations."
Kim Byeong-man married his ex-wife A, who is seven years older, in 2010 and adopted B, who was born to A and her former husband, as a "child of the family." This type of adoption legally severs ties with the biological parents and allows the child to take the adoptive parents' name, essentially granting legal parental status. However, in 2020, Kim Byeong-man filed for divorce from his ex-wife A, finalizing their legal marriage status in September 2023. He attempted to terminate parental rights over B twice, but B refused, and he lost the lawsuits.
However, the situation changed with the third lawsuit. Kim Byeong-man filed again to terminate his legal relationship with the past ahead of his remarriage, during which B claimed that Kim Byeong-man fathered a child through infidelity while they were married and even filed a paternity lawsuit. In response, Kim Byeong-man stated, "I met my fiancée and had a child after our marriage fell apart," and ultimately, the court accepted Kim Byeong-man's position.
Prior to this court news, Kim Byeong-man revealed his true feelings about remarrying during an appearance on Channel A's "Close Friends Documentary: Four-Person Table" aired in June. At that time, he said, "I feel ticklish when I think about having a wedding at the ceremony venue," adding, "I want to create a warm gathering with acquaintances over a simple meal."
