Group S.E.S's Shoo directly addressed another controversy following the gambling scandal.
On the 9th, Shoo posted on her social media account, "Everyone, today is already the end of the heat wave. Are you having a lively weekend? Yesterday, I was finally able to share my story through YouTube. There have been stories I couldn't easily bring up, but after much contemplation, I gathered the courage to speak for the first time."
She said, "It's been just 24 hours since the video was uploaded and I truly appreciate that many people have shown interest and supported me during this brief day. Reading each and every comment you left made me emotional, and the sharp advice I received deepened my resolve to live my future life more valuably and preciously."
She added, "Now I hope to not be the clueless 'Shoo' anymore, but to one day confidently say to everyone, 'Everyone, I've become a human now. Right?' and to live as 'Human Shoo' without hiding or embellishing myself, giving my best in every moment."
On the 8th, Shoo released a video titled "I will tell everything about that controversial incident today" through her YouTube channel 'Human That's Shoo.' In the video, Shoo opened up about her life after the gambling incident and her relationship with her family.
Particularly, her husband, Lim Hyo-sung, also appeared and revealed, "During the time when we were separated, one day I suddenly received a call stating, 'There is a debt.' At that time, I received a call saying there was a debt of 280 million won, and I was so incompetent. After a day of contemplation, I gathered all the money I borrowed from friends and the savings I had, but by then, the relationship had already deteriorated beyond repair."
Shoo was indicted for habitual gambling amounting to 790 million won from August 2016 to May 2018, both domestically and internationally. In February 2019, she was sentenced to six months of imprisonment with a two-year probation and, after a period of reflection, announced her return in April 2022, stepping back in front of the camera as a BJ, but once again faced criticism for her revealing clothing.
In response, she noted, "I don't think I even had a chance to speak; I feel like I just ran away," expressing her feelings during that time and raising expectations for the new 'person Shoo.'
