Actress Lee Tae-ran revealed a quick-fire love story that led her to marry her husband after just three months of meeting through a blind date.
In the episode of KBS2TV's 'Problem Child in House' aired on the 7th, Lee Tae-ran appeared as a guest and shared everything from clarifying rumors about being a 'chaebol' daughter-in-law to her real marriage tale.
When a recent article circulated rumors that Lee Tae-ran became a chaebol housewife through remarriage, she firmly denied it, saying, 'It's just a drama story.' In response to the question, 'What if a real chaebol proposes and has many ex-wives?' she said, 'I have no thoughts at all.'
However, reality love unfolded in a completely different direction. Lee Tae-ran said, 'I met my husband through a blind date. We got married three months after we met,' surprising everyone. At the time of her marriage, she was approaching the age of forty, and she confessed, 'I had a strong desire to get married before forty. I was anxious.' Lee Tae-ran recalled that she was captivated by her husband's first impression, stating, 'His voice was great, and the way he sipped coffee with his legs crossed was very sexy. I fell for his deep gaze.'
But it wasn't all smooth sailing. She said, 'After we broke up, I naturally thought there would be an after, but there was no contact. It was over a month, and there was still no news.' She expressed her realistic concern, stating, 'I had to swallow my pride and contacted him first. I didn't want to go past forty.'
The two reunited like that. Lee Tae-ran revealed, 'Even when we held hands, there was no talk of marriage. I was angry and said, 'I want to get married. I can't drag this out.' When the MCs said, 'Three months is not dragging it out,' Lee Tae-ran added, 'Yet I thought he would give me assurance.' To this, Hong Jin Kyung chimed in, 'If it's fate, three days is enough.'
Lee Tae-ran revealed, 'I thought it was my last chance. I pushed, saying, 'If you want to keep seeing me, let's get married. Otherwise, let's break up. I'll give you a week to think about it,' and he showed up with a ring after just three days,' earning applause from everyone. He smiled, saying, 'Looking back now, it was a great decision.'
When asked if there were compliments she wanted to hear from her husband, she said, 'When I asked what my plus point was, he took a while to think and then said, 'Is it because your body is pretty?' It wasn't bad, but it felt a bit forced.' Initially, there were many arguments between the couple due to her husband's reserved personality, but now they understand each other's styles well. She said, 'I express discomfort clearly,' adding, 'I only have aegyo with my husband.'
Meanwhile, Lee Tae-ran has been quietly continuing her acting career without exposing her private life since her marriage in 2014, and recently has been writing another life character portraying a chaebol daughter-in-law in a drama.
