SEVENTEEN's S.Coups donated 50 million won to celebrate his birthday.
The Korea Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Kim Byung-jun) announced on the 8th that S.Coups (real name Choi Seung-cheol), the leader of SEVENTEEN, donated 50 million won for children from low-income families in honor of his birthday (Aug. 8).
With this donation, S.Coups became the 3,710th member of the Honor Society, a group of major donors.
The donation will be used to support the meal costs of children at risk of hunger during the summer vacation, in accordance with S.Coups's wish to assist children and youth. It is especially planned to be used to help the healthy growth of vulnerable children, focusing on community child centers across the country.
S.Coups noted, "Thanks to the love from fans, each birthday that comes around every year is remembered as a special day. I wanted to give back a little of the love I have received to society," adding, "I support the healthy growth of all children and youth."
S.Coups has consistently shown interest in various fields such as child welfare and animal protection, practicing charity regularly. Including this birthday donation, he has donated several times to shelters and rescue organizations for abandoned animals, contributing to medical expenses and rescue of abused animals, and he continues to exert a positive influence by donating during various disasters, including the relief funds for the wildfires in Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam in March.
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN, to which S.Coups belongs, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with a variety of activities. Their 5th studio album, 'HAPPY BURSTDAY,' released in May, topped the Circle Chart's settlement of account for the first half of the year, and the title track 'THUNDER' ranked first on the Melon Top 100 chart, proving their immense popularity. Starting in September, they are set to meet fans worldwide through the 'SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_],' beginning at the Incheon Asian Main Stadium, with stops in Hong Kong, North America, Japan, and more.
