Broadcaster Kim Byeong-man (50) acknowledged that he has two children with his fiancée ahead of their remarriage.
According to the entertainment industry on the 8th, Kim Byeong-man's agency, Sky Turtle, explained that he had two children with his current fiancée, whom he is set to remarry, before divorcing his ex-wife.
Previously, relating to Kim Byeong-man's ex-wife's daughter filing a lawsuit for confirmation of parent-child relations claiming that 'Kim Byeong-man has an extramarital child,' the existence of the two biological children has been acknowledged.
However, Sky Turtle claimed, 'The births occurred after the marriage with the ex-wife had already collapsed.'
Kim Byeong-man registered his marriage without a wedding to non-celebrity woman Ms. A, who is seven years older than him, in 2010. He adopted Ms. A's daughter, Ms. B, as his own.
However, after a long separation, Kim Byeong-man divorced Ms. A in 2023 and filed for the termination of the adoption concerning the adult Ms. B. He had no other children with Ms. A.
Ms. B reportedly requested the court to order a DNA test to confirm whether the two children are biological, stating, 'Kim Byeong-man had children with another woman before the legal completion of his marriage to Ms. A,' and 'There are inheritance interests involved.'
Prior to this, allegations emerged that Kim Byeong-man assaulted his ex-wife, Ms. A, during the process of returning to broadcasting.
In response, Sky Turtle asserted, 'The claim that Mr. Kim assaulted his ex-wife is not true,' and 'Ex-wife Ms. A filed a false complaint to avoid paying the money acknowledged as property division in the divorce lawsuit. This has already been sent to the prosecution with a non-indictment opinion from the police, and the assault allegations were not acknowledged in the divorce lawsuit.'
Subsequently, it was revealed that ex-wife Ms. A had enrolled in life insurance under Kim Byeong-man's name, which created controversy.
Kim Byeong-man is scheduled to remarry the non-celebrity woman who is the biological mother of his two children on September 20.
Kim Byeong-man debuted as a comedian under KBS in 2002. He has been active through KBS's 'Gag Concert' corner 'Master' and SBS's variety program 'Kim Byeong-man's Law of the Jungle.'
