The group ENHYPEN has added another achievement with their new single in Japan.
According to the Japan Record Association on the 8th, ENHYPEN (Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunwoo, Niki)'s fourth Japanese single '宵 -YOI-' reached cumulative shipment of over 500,000 copies based on July, the month of its release, earning it a Gold Disc 'Double Platinum' certification. The Japan Record Association certifies albums monthly based on cumulative shipments, distinguishing between 'Gold' (100,000), 'Platinum' (250,000), and 'Double Platinum' (500,000) certifications.
With this, ENHYPEN now holds a total of 15 Gold Disc-certified albums. Among these, the albums certified as 'Double Platinum' are the second Japanese single 'DIMENSION: SENKO', the third Japanese single '結 -YOU-', and this is the third instance. Notably, this fourth single broke the 500,000 copy shipment mark only three days after its release on the 29th of last month, demonstrating ENHYPEN's hot local popularity.
'宵 -YOI-' is the first of ENHYPEN's Japanese albums to achieve 'half million seller' status for first-week sales. This single recorded 575,330 copies in its first week on the Billboard Japan 'Top Single Sales' chart (dated Aug. 6) and secured second place. Additionally, it broke the team's own first-week sales record, ranking second on the Oricon 'Weekly Single Ranking' (dated Aug. 11). Furthermore, it set a milestone as the only foreign artist to surpass 400,000 copies in first-week sales (Oricon criteria) for a single released in Japan.
The title track 'Shine On Me' is also receiving a warm response. This song soared to second place on the Billboard Japan 'Hot 100' (dated Aug. 6) with a total of 9,270 composite points. The music video for this track reached number one on the live chart of Line Music's 'Music Video Top 100' immediately after its release.
Meanwhile, ENHYPEN's world tour 'ENHYPEN WORLD TOUR 'WALK THE LINE'' is smoothly sailing with the support of fans worldwide, known as ENGENE. They successfully completed the 'WALK THE LINE' IN JAPAN -SUMMER EDITION- concert at the Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo and the Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka, achieving the fastest stadium entry period for a foreign artist (4 years and 7 months). Afterward, ENHYPEN will continue their performances in 10 cities across the U.S. and Europe, starting with the UBS Arena at Belmont Park in New York on the 6th and 7th (local time).
