Comedian Park Jin-joo shed tears mentioning her father, who is lying in a hospital bed.
The episode of the SBS entertainment program 'The Woman Who Play Football,' aired on 6th, showcased the match between FC Gaebengers and FC Streaming Fighters competing for a spot in the elimination match.
In this match, Gaebengers lost 1-3 and could not avoid the elimination match. The only goal was scored by Kim Seung-hye, and after scoring, the members of Gaebengers prayed for Park Jin-joo's father's recovery by performing a unified deep bow ceremony.
In a post-match interview, Park Jin-joo said, "My father is in a coma due to an accident," adding, "I had prepared a celebration for when I would score the first goal, but the seniors told me, 'We're one, so let's definitely do it when a goal is scored.'"
She continued, "It has been over two years since my father has been lying down. I used to say, 'I will make you happy like never before,' and I hope he can smile while watching the grandchildren. I always say I love him because I believe he is listening. I love you, father," she conveyed the message while holding back tears.
The production team also joined through subtitles to wish for the recovery of Park Jin-joo's father, Mr. Park Chang-hyun, and the health of the family.
After the broadcast, Park Jin-joo expressed her gratitude on her social media saying, "Even though it wasn't my goal, I truly thank the coach and seniors for gathering their hearts for my father. He will definitely get up. Dad, are you listening?"
