The NCT group appealed for the seriousness of privacy violations and urged fans to exercise restraint.
On the 7th, NCT's agency, SM Entertainment, stated through the official fan community Weverse, "As cases that threaten the safety of artists or invade their privacy have increased, we would like to provide guidance on NCT fan etiquette for the formation of a mature fandom culture and the protection of artists' rights," and posted a notice regarding fan etiquette.
The agency first mentioned the order at airports, saying, "During domestic and international entry and exit, order is being disrupted due to crowds, and as a result, both artists and fans, as well as other airport users, are experiencing ongoing inconvenience." They added, "Due to excessive physical contact, attempts at conversation, delivering gifts and letters, and indiscriminate filming in all security areas of the airport (immigration inspection area, security checkpoint, baggage claim area, duty-free shop, lounge, on-board, etc.), please exercise restraint as it could lead to safety accidents."
"Additionally, cases of approaching the artists' seats aboard have recurred, leading to a serious invasion of the members' privacy. Therefore, after this notice, delivering letters and gifts at the airport and on board is not permitted, and we ask for your understanding." They further noted, "Recently, there have been continuous incidents of unauthorized use of artists' personal information to change or cancel ticket seats, disrupting schedules. Such acts fall under the crime of obstructing business and may be subject to claims for damages. We emphasize that during all domestic and international entry and exit, please refrain from visiting airports or taking the same flights with information obtained by improper means."
Moreover, they urged fans to refrain from visiting unofficial schedules and private spaces, stating, "Unofficial schedules cannot be disclosed in advance for security and operational reasons, and visiting during these times can greatly disrupt the operations of the organizers. Therefore, please refrain from visiting locations that have not been officially announced. All spaces related to artists' privacy, including accommodations, are valuable places for their daily lives and rest. We kindly ask that you avoid visiting or accessing these areas to protect the artists' privacy. During overseas schedules, please refrain from waiting around the hotel where the artists are staying and from photographing private events and spaces."
Finally, the agency added, "Blocking the front of artists' vehicles or following them poses significant obstacles to their movement and can also threaten the safety of artists, fans, and citizens. We request that you exercise restraint regarding any actions that could pose a risk to safety."
Earlier, NCT members had appealed about damage from stalker fans. SM Entertainment filed a complaint against a stalker fan who impersonated a delivery person to illegally obtain the personal information of an NCT member, and the stalker fan was fined.
