Broadcaster Jang Yeong-ran and oriental medicine doctor Han Chang revealed that they are facing a divorce crisis after 16 years of marriage.
On the 6th, a video titled "The truth behind Jang Yeong-ran's husband living at home after selling a 400-pyeong oriental medicine hospital (unemployed husband, economic power)" was posted on the YouTube channel 'A-Class Jang Yeong-ran.'
On this day, Han Chang introduced his profession as "Jang Yeong-ran's husband" and revealed that he is currently unemployed. Showing tears, he said, "I transferred the hospital and sold the hospital," adding, "I am truly unemployed."
Jang Yeong-ran expressed her thoughts on her husband's tears, saying, "So my husband has been resting for 2 months now. I think he is feeling a bit overwhelmed. He can't say it, but I really think that he has given up his dream for me to do better, and I feel a little sorry about that."
Han Chang noted that after opening the hospital, arguments between the couple increased. He said, "We almost got divorced. We fought a lot before starting YouTube in early 2022," while Jang Yeong-ran shared, "I went home after drinking every night and we constantly fought, especially about the hospital. For years, we couldn't communicate. Now that my husband has quit, there is nothing to fight about. Ultimately, it has just wrapped me in a larger vessel."
Han Chang, who is currently focused on household chores, said, "Right now, I'm doing housework. I help the kids with their homework and send them to academies. It's something Yeong-ran used to do, but since things have gotten busy, someone has to do it. That's me right now."
Jang Yeong-ran married Han Chang, a 3-year younger oriental medicine doctor, in 2009 and they have a son and a daughter. Han Chang opened a 400-pyeong oriental medicine hospital in Mapo District, Seoul, in October 2021, and his wife, Jang Yeong-ran, actively promoted the hospital.
However, in the following October, Jang Yeong-ran drew attention by expressing management difficulties, saying, "We are currently 2.2 billion won in debt. We took out a loan against the house to open the hospital. If the hospital fails, the house will be taken. It has been a year since we opened, and we haven't been able to pay back a single won."
