Singer Tablo visited Stanford University, his alma mater, with fellow Epik High members 15 years after the 'Tajinyo' controversy.
On the evening of the 7th, the Epik High YouTube channel revealed the moment when the Epik High members visited YouTube headquarters to celebrate surpassing 1 million subscribers and received the Gold Button.
Tablo, Tukutz, and Mithra were moved after receiving the Gold Button from YouTube. Following the enthusiastic visit to YouTube headquarters, Tablo wanted to head to his accommodation, saying, "Let's take a break now." However, Tukutz and Mithra had different plans. They wanted to visit Tablo's alma mater, Stanford University, saying, "We're on our way."
Stanford University, where Tablo graduated, is a prestigious university in the western United States. However, in 2010, during the peak popularity of Epik High and Tablo, skeptics questioning Tablo's graduation from Stanford created an online community demanding the truth, known as 'Tajinyo,' which raised suspicions of academic fraud. Subsequently, Tablo appeared on MBC's documentary 'MBC Special,' where he confessed his deep emotional pain due to the societal disbelief in the truth, stating that it was not disbelief but rather despair.
Fifteen years later, Epik High members sought to take Tablo to visit Stanford University. Tablo was taken aback by the playful reactions of Tukutz and Mithra, saying, "I really went there," "What do you want to do on the day I received the Gold Button?" "That's wicked," and "Wicked XX," expressing disbelief.
However, Tukutz and Mithra were sincere. In particular, Tukutz brought a similar black beanie and hoodie that Tablo wore during his appearance on 'MBC Special' and urged Tablo to wear them. Mithra was even surprised, saying, "I've never seen Tukutz prepare and work hard like this before."
Eventually, Tablo recreated a scene from 'MBC Special' 15 years ago in front of his Epik High members, although he smiled brightly. He burst into laughter at the members' playful chant, saying, "I've shaken off all the pain and sadness, and I'm healed," and he even displayed real tears. He expressed, "I was already healed," feeling unjust, but together with the members, he neatly concluded the 'Tajinyo' incident from 15 years ago once again. Seeing Tablo's demeanor, Tukutz added, "Now I feel completely relieved," adding to the laughter.
