Singer BoA clarified misunderstandings about the unit GOT the Beat.
On the 6th, a video titled "BoA Director said to release the channel, it's really Crazier" was uploaded.
On that day, singer BoA appeared as a guest on 'Bob Sa Hyo 2'. BoA and Hyoyeon had previously participated together as a unit named 'GOT the Beat' with Girls' Generation's Taeyeon, Red Velvet's Seulgi, Wendy, aespa's Karina, and Winter.
In response, Hyoyeon mentioned BoA's passion, saying, "When we were active as the same team, I learned a lot watching her during the activities of GOT the Beat. I am the type who thinks this is enough and regrets not practicing a bit more, but my sister checks her moves until she gets it right."
BoA said, "But I make the most mistakes. During the filming, I'm so nervous. I've never done move transitions before, and my dance was very different. Since the moves are different, sometimes I go this way and sometimes that way, and my choreography tends to mix a lot. That's why I keep making mistakes, which is embarrassing."
Hyoyeon remarked, "Internally, we found it funny. I realized that even sister BoA makes mistakes," and BoA confessed, "It was embarrassing; I was wondering what to do." In response, Hyoyeon said, "I've heard that story. When Girls' Generation was active, you also mentioned wanting to try being in a group once. What would that feel like? Because you've been active as a solo artist for several decades," and BoA replied, "I was curious, but I don't think I need to do it."
BoA particularly said, "And there's a big misunderstanding that people think GOT the Beat was created because of me," to which Hyoyeon, seemingly surprised, responded, "Is that so?" BoA clarified, "Really not. I kept running away because I didn't want to do it," and Hyoyeon expressed her astonishment, saying, "We thought, how could we do this just because we're with sister BoA? Look at the goosebumps I've got now."
BoA stated, "So I really sent messages saying (I didn't want to do it), and I felt like this was not a place for me, but I ended up receiving all the hate comments..." she revealed the negative comments she faced after the activities of GOT the Beat. Hyoyeon asked, "Did you receive hate comments?" BoA answered, "There were many." Then Hyoyeon picked up a spatula in front of her and warned, "Let everyone come out. Can't you see? Who did this to my sister?" which drew laughter.
Thus, BoA conveyed her emotional struggles, saying, "So I felt really upset, thinking that I worked hard only to be criticized." Hyoyeon responded, "I had no idea. But it must have hurt more than I thought," showing empathy, and BoA added, "So I also felt very nervous trying to show my best self."
Hyoyeon asked, "Even after performing on many stages until now, do you still feel nervous?" to which BoA replied, "Absolutely." Hyoyeon agreed, saying, "I feel that way too," and BoA continued, "The more experience I gain, the more nervous I become." Hyoyeon expressed surprise, saying, "I thought I was the only one, but I guess not," and BoA explained, "When I was younger, I did it without thinking, but once people started to expect, 'Given her level, she should be able to do this,' I realized it became a burden at some point." Hyoyeon nodded, saying, "I guess I feel that way too. Since there are expectations of me, I feel the pressure to exceed that level."
