Actress Lim Yoona talked about her chemistry with Ahn Bo Hyun.
Lim Yoona met with reporters at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno District, Seoul, on the 7th for an interview about the movie 'Pretty Crazy' (directed by Lee Sang-geun, provided and distributed by CJ ENM, produced by Oyu Naekang).
'Pretty Crazy' is a devilish comedy that depicts the struggles of a young jobless man, Gilgu (Ahn Bo Hyun), who gets caught up in an extraordinary part-time job monitoring Seonji (Lim Yoona), who wakes up as a demon every dawn. From the unique setting of the meeting between a demon and a young jobless man, 'Pretty Crazy' has been praised for its cinematic quality. It was a work that director Lee Sang-geun considered for his debut, following the huge success of 'Exit,' which attracted 9.42 million viewers, showcasing Lee's pure and harmless directing style.
Lim Yoona, who plays the addictive demon 'Seonji,' runs a regular bakery during the day but unknowingly wakes up as a high-level demon at dawn. Lim Yoona, taking on the practically double role with different personalities by day and night, is expected to delight audiences with her fresh and bold transformation as well as her upgraded comedic performances.
Lim Yoona, who is busy switching between filming the drama 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty' and promoting the movie 'Pretty Crazy,' spent her August productively. She said, "The drama just ended the day before yesterday. Just yesterday, I had another premiere, so honestly, I haven't been able to sleep much, and physically, I'm lacking energy, but while doing all this, with the movie also being released and the drama wrapping up well, I have a large sense of expectation. Though I am tired, I still feel energized. Everyone tells me how great my stamina is."
'Pretty Crazy' garnered attention even before its release for the 'chemistry in size' between Lim Yoona and Ahn Bo Hyun. While their visuals are striking, the difference in their sizes also evokes excitement. Lim Yoona commented on her 'chemistry in size' with Ahn Bo Hyun, saying, "Seonji is a character who needs someone to look after and watch over her, so I wanted Gilgu's character to seem reliable in that regard, and I think it matched well externally as well. I believe that Gilgu appears to be someone who can protect Seonji reliably, and I think they fit well together."
She further added, "Because of that, I could comfortably collapse when I needed to. Physically, it's a physique I can't defeat, so I use my energy as I am, but I think Ahn Bo Hyun adjusted his acting to enhance that chemistry."
Particularly, Lim Yoona expressed her fond feelings toward the 'Gilgu' character, saying, "The moment I first see Gilgu is at the end part of the story. When I see him picking up trash and throwing it in the bin, I think Seonji becomes interested in Gilgu's good nature and the energy that comes from it. I thought there's that kind of understanding between the two of them as if they recognize the same person. Gilgu seems reliable and responsible, so I didn't think much about why I would like Gilgu. In reality, he is very dependable, which makes my feelings grow, and I think it would be nice to be around him. I believe Gilgu's biggest charm is his sense of responsibility. I think it's also appealing that he can quietly fulfill his tasks perfectly, so I think there are various attractions."
