A shocking twist about Korea's first nicotine murder case will be revealed on Kkokkomu.
In the episode of 'Story of the Day When You Bite Your Tail' (directed by Lee Geunbyeol, Lee Dongwon, and Ko Hyerin, hereafter 'Kkokkomu'), airing today (7th), a husband falls asleep in a happy APT. where his daughter, wife, and husband live and dies for no reason. After returning home from dining out, the husband, who falls asleep, suddenly dies. Lethal amounts of sleeping pills, alcohol, and nicotine are detected in his body. There are no signs of external intrusion in this ordinary household. Who, why, and how did someone kill the man? The nicotine murder case, revealed for the first time in Korea, retraces the perpetrator's meticulous timeline. Notable participants include singer BoA, Ha Dong-kyun, and ASTRO's Sanha.
Among them, BoA captures attention by certifying herself as a dedicated fan of Kkokkomu. BoA noted, "This is a show I always watch live," revealing her expertise in Kkokkomu. When Jang Hyunseong unveiled a model of the APT., she made a meaningful expression, saying, "When this kind of thing appears in Kkokkomu, it usually signifies a murder," showcasing her sharp reasoning and storytelling skills that only long-time fans could understand. Furthermore, with her characteristic honesty and candidness, she stated, "He must have done it," "If I had a friend like that, I would have grabbed him and gone to the district office," and "Currently, there is no solid evidence," demonstrating her clear judgment of the situation as she fills the audio with engaging commentary, becoming an active and immersive listener.
The incident began when a man in his 50s was found dead in an APT. in Gyeonggi Province in 2016. There were no signs of trauma, and the autopsy revealed that the nicotine level in his blood was lethal, causing shock as the deceased had been a non-smoker. At that time, there were no signs of external intrusion in the house, and only the wife and their daughter with a cognitive disability were present.
However, the problems began afterward. Right after her husband's death, the wife contacted a funeral company first instead of calling 119, and on the third day after his passing, she proceeded with the retirement payment inquiry, autopsy, and cremation in quick succession. Within a month, she showed astonishing drive by completing tasks such as closing bank accounts, changing the car's ownership, claiming insurance money, and transferring and selling the APT. Moreover, she did not even inform anyone about her husband's funeral. This led listener Ha Dong-kyun to exclaim, "Is this even possible?"
Will BoA, a self-proclaimed dedicated fan of Kkokkomu, uncover the timeline of the perpetrator? How could the murderer carry out the crime? Korea's first nicotine murder case will be revealed in the main broadcast of Kkokkomu.
Meanwhile, Kkokkomu is a program where three 'storytellers' share their findings with their 'story friends' in a one-on-one setting in the most ordinary spaces, airing every Thursday at 10:20 p.m. on SBS.
