Premiering on September 5th at 9:50 p.m., the new SBS drama 'The Mantis: Original Sin' (directed by Byun Young-joo, written by Lee Young-jong) is a high-density crime thriller that occurs over 20 years after the capture of the cruel serial killer 'The Mantis', when copycat crimes emerge. A detective who has harbored lifelong hatred for 'The Mantis', his mother, unexpectedly collaborates to solve this case.
This work is a remake of a French original drama of the same name. It received attention in France under the title 'La Mante', produced as a total of six episodes. It was also released on Netflix in December 2017, drawing significant global interest, especially earning praise as the 'French version of The Silence of the Lambs.'
