Broadcaster Hong Jin Kyung concluded her 28-year marriage with her husband and expressed her honest feelings.
On the 6th, the YouTube channel 'Jip Naggan Jeong Seon Hee' released a video titled "Finally, Jeong Seon Hee's 30-year close friend Hong Jin Kyung, a story only friends can share." In the video, Hong Jin Kyung spoke directly about the divorce rumors surrounding her.
Earlier the same day, a media outlet reported that Hong Jin Kyung and her husband had reached a consensual divorce. According to the report, the two decided to focus on their own lives after lengthy discussions and finalized the divorce process, with a source explaining that it was "a mutual agreement without any liability.
Hong Jin Kyung said during the YouTube broadcast, "Rael and Rael's dad are all doing well," and added, "It's unfortunate that we only found true friendship after we became strangers, but we are doing well now."
She continued, "I didn't know when or how to share such stories, and my heart felt heavy all the time," and expressed her complex feelings, stating, "I felt that letting things flow without saying anything wasn't honest. "
Hong Jin Kyung stated, "I first met my husband in 1998. He was the only person I knew, loved, and lived with for 28 years," and added, "You might be curious about why we separated, but neither of us was at fault. We just reached the conclusion that we wanted to live a little differently."
She said, "Only after becoming strangers did real friendship develop, and now he is a good oppa I can rely on like before."
She also mentioned, "My husband still comes home often, and both our mothers meet regularly to have meals together, so the relationship is good," adding, "I didn't know my mom and mother-in-law were such cool people. It's almost Hollywood style," she laughed.
