The Chinese drama starring top star Xiao Zhan, "Zang Hai," is set to meet Korean viewers.
According to SBS Medianet on the 6th, the Chinese hit "Zang Hai" (import and distribution Studio S) will premiere at 10 p.m. on August 18 on SBS F!L UHD.
"Zang Hai" is a 40-episode long drama that tells the story of the protagonist Zhang Hai (played by Xiao Zhan) engaging in a fierce revenge plot. In the drama, Chino (played by Xiao Zhan), the son of the Great Yong Kingdom's chief inspector, returns after his entire family is slaughtered and, after 10 years, reappears as Zhang Hai. He uses skills in architecture and feng shui to devise strategies, clearing his unjust accusations and proving his innocence.
In particular, "Zang Hai" aired on CCTV-8 in May, ranking second in historical drama viewership in China, achieving the highest ratings for a historical drama aired in the last five years, becoming the first drama of 2025 to break 40% market share, surpassing 100 million views for daily peak play counts, and setting record highs for bookings and popularity index on the Youku platform, creating numerous topics of discussion.
Lead actor Xiao Zhan gained instant attention and rose to stardom through the 2019 drama "The Untamed," and has since established himself as China's top representative actor through works such as "Your Life, My Myriad Tales," "The Blue Whisper," "The Dream of the Red Chamber," and "The Piano Player." In this drama, he has received praise for his improved acting, vocal skills, and dialogue delivery.
