Broadcaster Jang Seong-kyu changed his channel name amid growing concerns.
On the 6th, Jang Seong-kyu posted on his social account, "Many people were worried that I would really become irrelevant because words can have consequences."
He said, "Those who hesitated to subscribe due to the name and those advertisers who hesitated to include product placements because of the name, now please cast aside your worries and come in. Reflecting public sentiment, the channel name has been firmly changed."
Earlier, after leaving 'Workman', Jang Seong-kyu opened his YouTube channel 'Irrelevant Jang Seong-kyu' on the 4th of last month and began a new start. At that time, he stated, "I will return to the original intention and work hard. Please watch until the day I become significant from being irrelevant."
However, due to the negative image of the word 'irrelevant', concerns continued, leading to the decision to change the channel name. Jang Seong-kyu said, "With the idea of making it a long and grand channel together, I will now promise to only bring good energy with 'Manrijangseongkyu.'"
