Singer Jo Sung-mo is making his first appearance on 'Radio Star' in 18 years, offering an unprecedented self-introduction and delightful conversation. Today's (6th) broadcast of MBC 'Radio Star' (planned by Kang Young-seon / directed by Kim Myung-yeob, Hwang Yoon-sang, Byun Da-hee) features a special 'Brother is coming back' segment with Kim Jang-hoon, Bobby Kim, Jo Sung-mo, and Son Ho-young.
Jo Sung-mo noted, 'I received calls every time the producer of 'Radio Star' changed over the past 18 years,' adding, 'This show is a survival report,' which immediately prompts laughter.
He recalls that when he first revealed his face on KBS's 'Lee So-ra's Proposal' during his time as an anonymous singer, he thought, 'I'm done for.' He shares that he felt pressured by articles comparing him to Kim Bum-soo due to his 'faceless singer' image at the time of his debut.
Jo Sung-mo also reveals another embarrassing moment from his past. He recounts that actor Gang Dong-won appeared in his music video for 'Determination,' and he felt competitive the moment he saw him. He confessed, 'At that time, Gang Dong-won looked so cool that I felt jealous and unnecessarily competitive,' ultimately causing him to create an embarrassing story that turns the scene into a sea of laughter.
Behind-the-scenes stories about his participation in the drama 'Lovers in Paris' soundtrack are also revealed. He explains that at the time, many singers were reluctant to participate in soundtracks and adds that, 'It was because of the loyalty to Kim Jung-eun, who was in the same agency, that I decided to do it,' revealing that surprising success was rooted in 'loyalty,' which earns him applause.
