Whenever Possible, actor Hyun Bong-sik revealed that his name before the name change was 'Boram,' surprising everyone.
On the 5th, in the SBS program Whenever Possible, Kim Sung-kyun and Hyun Bong-sik made their appearance as 'friends to fill the gaps.'
Hyun Bong-sik and Kim Sung-kyun appeared as gap friends. Yoo Jae-suk stated that he first met Hyun Bong-sik at an awards ceremony. Yoo Jae-suk conveyed that "Mr. Hyun Bong-sik greeted him warmly and asked, 'May I take a picture with you?'" which brought laughter.
Yoo Yeon-seok also shared his experience of initially struggling to speak casually to Hyun Bong-sik. Yoo Yeon-seok said, "Even though I heard we were the same age, I found myself standing up without realizing it," mentioning Hyun Bong-sik's overwhelming presence. Hyun Bong-sik added, "Knowing the age, I kept using honorifics," which brought great laughter among the cast.
Hyun Bong-sik said, "It was a native Korean name given by my grandfather when I was born," adding that he lived under the name 'Boram' until he was 6 years old. However, he revealed that he changed his name to 'Hyun Jae-young' due to being teased by friends in his childhood.
He explained that he began using the stage name 'Hyun Bong-sik' while starting his acting career. Hyun Bong-sik humorously stated that he felt "betrayed" every time he heard the term stage name, which caused laughter.
