Singer Go Jung-woo of 'Seafood Ttukbaegi Voice' is temporarily leaving his fans for his defense duties.
According to OSEN's report on the 6th, Go Jung-woo is set to enter an army training center on Aug. 14, where he will undergo basic military training before serving as a social service agent.
Go Jung-woo, who gained recognition as the youngest haenyeo while diving with his grandmother, who was once a haenyeo, has showcased his talent as a five-win singer in the 'Challenge of Dream Stage' segment of 'Morning Yard,' and has appeared in various programs such as SBS's 'Unexpected Discovery' and KBS2's 'Human Theater.'
After throwing his hat into the ring on TV CHOSUN's 'Mr. Trot 2,' Go Jung-woo garnered the nickname 'Seafood Ttukbaegi Voice' for his deep emotions and singing ability, establishing himself as a next-generation traditional Trot singer. He later signed an exclusive contract with General Entertainment and is currently communicating with fans through more avenues, including the release of a new album and various entertainment appearances.
On May 27, 2023, Go Jung-woo released his first album 'Joseon Romance,' marking the beginning of his career as a Trot singer. He has been actively releasing new songs, including 'Palja' and 'Gani Station' in March and August, respectively. Notably, last year, he proved his potential as a musical actor by participating in the musical 'Siddhartha.'
Go Jung-woo's life story has touched the hearts of many. Recently appearing on MBN's 'Oh Eun-young Stay,' Go shared from his difficult childhood, where he grew up struggling with his mother and grandmother from the age of two, to becoming the head of the household at age nine after his grandmother's traffic accident.
