Broadcaster Hong Jin Kyung (48) announced her divorce after 22 years of marriage.
On the 6th, Hong Jin Kyung appeared on the YouTube channel 'The House of Jeong Seon Hee' and mentioned the fact of her divorce.
Hong Jin Kyung opened up by saying, "These days, I am okay. Rael is doing very well, and she is also getting along well with her dad," adding, "The unfortunate thing is that we only regained true friendship after finally becoming strangers."
She continued, "During that time, I often thought, 'When should I say something like this?' 'Is it okay to let things flow like this without saying anything?' It felt like I was deceiving myself," and noted, "A part of my heart was always heavy, and I didn't know the right timing or how and where to talk about it."
Hong Jin Kyung explained that she ended her marriage with her husband amicably. She stated, "We did not part ways because of one person's fault; instead, we decided to live differently now."
Hong Jin Kyung conveyed that the family relationships remain unchanged even after the divorce. She noted that her ex-husband often comes to the house, and both grandmothers and in-laws still meet frequently.
Hong Jin Kyung revealed, "In particular, I didn't know that my mom and my mother-in-law were such cool people; it's almost like Hollywood. They meet often for meals."
She added, "My mother-in-law asked to postpone the divorce announcement until Rael is a little older, so I couldn't disclose it until now," and mentioned, "The reporters already knew a lot, and the agency also conveyed that it would be better if I disclosed it myself, so I could no longer postpone it." She added that both her mother-in-law and ex-husband understood and agreed with this.
Hong Jin Kyung married a businessman who is five years older than her in 2003 after dating for five years. She gave birth to her daughter, Rael, in 2010. It has been reported that the two had already completed their divorce process several months ago.
