The group TWICE is continuing its hot global activities that surpass the summer heat.
TWICE debuted on Oct. 20, 2015, and celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The members are preparing various content to elevate fan sentiment as if to commemorate this meaningful year, including their 4th studio album 'THIS IS FOR', a new world tour of the same name, the Japanese 6th album 'ENEMY', a soundtrack for the Netflix original 'KPop Demon Hunters', and a documentary film commemorating their 10th anniversary.
In particular, the mini album 'Strategy', which gained global buzz through the animation 'KPop Demon Hunters', is experiencing a resurgence in popularity, breaking TWICE's own record. 'Strategy' rose to 74th place on the main chart 'Hot 100' of Billboard as of Aug. 5 (local time), climbing 18 spots from the previous week. The song 'TAKEDOWN (JEONGYEON, JIHYO, CHAEYOUNG)', sung by Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung, ranked 67th on the chart, adding momentum. On the Aug. 4 global largest music platform Spotify's U.S. chart, 'Strategy' and 'TAKEDOWN (JEONGYEON, JIHYO, CHAEYOUNG)' recorded 517,773 and 556,417 streams, settling at 48th and 42nd place, respectively.
On Aug. 2, a huge reaction was gathered from the explosive performance of TWICE as the headliner at the massive music festival Lollapalooza Chicago held at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois. TWICE prepared fully as they attended their first global festival and became the 'first K-pop girl group' headliner of Lollapalooza Chicago. They delivered a packed setlist of about 20 songs without a break, a stunning performance honed through a large-scale world tour, and captivating stage manners that enthralled the crowd. Fans both domestic and international praised, saying, "TWICE is the pride and elegance of K-pop."
Additionally, Momo, Sana, and Jihyo drew cheers by appearing on the large screen during Sabrina Carpenter's performance as headliner at Lollapalooza Chicago on the 3rd. The three members joined in the performance where Sabrina Carpenter, during her stage act, arrests hot fans or celebrities with pink handcuffs in 'Juno Arrest'. Momo, Sana, and Jihyo playfully reciprocated Sabrina Carpenter's endless flirting, raising the audience's cheers.
