Actress Min Ji-young candidly confessed to the aftereffects and health anomalies she experienced after thyroid cancer surgery.
On the 5th, Min Ji-young conducted a live broadcast on her YouTube channel "Min Ji-young TV," where she directly shared the aftereffects and changes in her body following thyroid cancer surgery.
During the broadcast, Min Ji-young said, "I struggled immensely with the aftereffects of general anesthesia during my thyroid cancer surgery," and noted, "I had a lot of trouble because of nausea, dizziness, and presbyopia that developed after the surgery."
Min Ji-young also explained, "I have maintained a weight of 49 kg for 20 years, but due to hormone imbalance from IVF treatments and cancer surgery, I gained 20 kg." She added, "The weight I gained then is still present, but recently I'm gradually losing it."
"It is true that people who have undergone thyroid cancer surgery return to their daily lives quickly, but the aftereffects definitely exist," he emphasized, adding, "Temperature regulation is the biggest problem. My body temperature drops sharply when it's cold and rises too high when it's hot. It's a mess."
Meanwhile, in a video released on the 6th of last month, Min Ji-young was seen urgently returning to Korea after being diagnosed with suspected ovarian cancer during her battle with thyroid cancer. Fortunately, the results of a detailed examination confirmed that it was not a female cancer.
In the video, Min Ji-young explained, "As you all know, I have not yet received a full recovery diagnosis for thyroid cancer," and added, "I came to Korea to receive my regular cancer check-up while also getting a health check-up for my husband and me."
However, unexpected news awaited her. She expressed her shock, saying, "I felt as if the sky was falling when I received a call that my ovarian cancer markers were high." She continued, "With a worried heart, I underwent further detailed testing, and fortunately, I received the result that it was not a female cancer," exuding relief.
During her short trip to Korea, Min Ji-young visited her parents to greet them and spent her busy time preparing documents for her pet cat, "Momo," to return to Germany.
Meanwhile, Min Ji-young married show host Kim Hyung-kyun, who is two years younger, in 2018 and has been battling thyroid cancer since being diagnosed in 2021 after two miscarriages. She is currently traveling around the world in a camper van with her husband, sharing her daily life through YouTube.
