The group Stray Kids has been nominated for the '2025 MTV Video Music Awards' (MTV VMA) for four consecutive years.
According to the announcement on the official website and social media channels of the 'MTV VMA' on the 5th (local time), Stray Kids has been nominated in the 'Best K-Pop' institutional sector with the title track 'Chk Chk Boom' from the mini album 'ATE', released in July 2024. They first entered the nominee list in this sector in 2022 with the title track 'MANIAC' from the mini album 'ODDINARY', won the 'Best K-Pop' institutional sector in 2023 with the title track '★★★★★ (5-STAR)', and were nominated in the same sector in 2024 with the title track '락 (樂)' from the mini album '樂-STAR'.
The 'MTV VMA', which began in 1984, is considered one of the four major American pop music awards, along with the Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and American Music Awards. Stray Kids has raised their profile this year by winning trophies in several pop music award ceremonies, including 'Music Video of the Year' and 'Best 3 Albums' at the '39th Japan Gold Disc Awards', 'Favorite Music Group' at the '2025 Kids' Choice Awards', and 'Album of the Year K-Pop' at the '2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards'.
Recently, they are on their 'largest-scale' world tour, 'Stray Kids World Tour 'dominATE'', traversing major stadiums worldwide while setting various first and top records. They are set to return on the 22nd with their new regular album 'KARMA'. The new release will be their first album since the 'SKZHOP HIPTAPE' that topped the Billboard 200 chart for six consecutive weeks and will be their first full-length album since the release of their third album '★★★★★ (5-STAR)' in June 2023, approximately two years ago. The album includes a total of 11 tracks, with the title track 'CEREMONY' and features contributions from the group's production team 3RACHA: Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, completing the musical identity.
Stray Kids' fourth regular album 'KARMA' will be released simultaneously worldwide on the 22nd at 1 p.m. (midnight Eastern Time).
