Former girl group Dal Shabet member Woohee is challenging herself on the theater stage and will simultaneously sing the theme song for the play.
From Aug. 15 to Oct. 26, in the play 'Star of Seoul' held at Art House in Daehangno, Seoul, Woohee plays the role of the female lead 'Jo Mi-ryeong.'
The play 'Star of Seoul' is set in a shabby rooftop room at the top of a mountain village in Seoul, depicting a story of three people on the brink of life who understand each other and illuminate their lives with one star each. It is a work featuring veteran actors such as Lee Moon-sik, Jung Eun-pyo, Kim Myung-soo, along with Park Jun-seok, a former member of the group Tae SAJa, and Hee-jae from the group Seven Us.
The character Jo Mi-ryeong, played by Woohee, is a nameless singer on a night stage who, while hiding her past and living a harsh life, does not lose her smile and shows a hopeful and determined attitude despite difficult circumstances.
Woohee, a talented singer who has released several songs including the OST 'Goodbye My Love' from the drama 'Watta Jangbo-ri', is also an actress active in various dramas, films, and musicals, and her acting and singing in the play is highly anticipated.
The theme song of the play 'Star of Seoul' was written, composed, and produced by producer Chocolatz, who also produced 'Rock-Paper-Scissors' by trot singer Byeollove, with the director of the play, Son Nam-mok, co-writing the lyrics. The theme song 'Star of Seoul' contains lyrics with a message of hope that although the current reality is difficult, if we walk toward the stars, we too can shine like stars someday, coupled with a heartwarming ballad melody and the poignant voice of Woohee, enhancing the emotional impact of the play.
The song 'Star of Seoul' sung by Woohee will be released on the 7th through various music sites.
