Actor Lim Cheol-hyung remembered the late Song Young-kyu, who suddenly passed away.
Lim Cheol-hyung shared a photo with Song Young-kyu on his Instagram account on the 5th, leaving a short shout of "Hyung!" This photo was taken during the press conference for the play "Shakespeare in Love" held in February 2023 at the Seoul Arts Center CJ Towol Theater.
In this work, Lim Cheol-hyung and Song Young-kyu, who were double-cast in the Penny Man character, created a warm and friendly atmosphere. Lim Cheol-hyung reflected on the memories he shared with the late Song Young-kyu after hearing the news of his passing on the 4th.
He also reminisced about a video filmed to promote the movie "Country of Happiness." In the video, Lim Cheol-hyung, Jo Jung-seok, and Song Young-kyu are seen playing a fun snowball fight game while promoting the film. Song Young-kyu was found dead in a vehicle in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, around 8 a.m. on the 4th. He was 55 years old. The funeral home is set up at the special 1st room of Dabos Hospital in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The late actor's wife and two daughters are listed as the bereaved family. The funeral procession will be held at 8 a.m. on the 6th, and the late actor is scheduled to rest at Hambeoksan Memorial Park.
A close associate of Song Young-kyu told OSEN, "The elder brother had a lot of stress even before this (drunk driving) incident. It seems that the number of projects decreased, including personal matters, resulting in a vicious cycle." He added, "As the stress piled up, I think he drank to forget his pain. Although those around him advised against it, it's so unfortunate."
