The new face of 'Morning Garden,' KBS announcer Park Cheol-kyu, expressed his overwhelming feelings.
Park Cheol-kyu posted on his SNS on the 4th, "Many people have contacted me in advance after seeing the article, but I am truly dazed even now. I am going to host the program 'Morning Garden,' which is loved by the entire nation and known by everyone, following my senior Kim Jae-won. I would like to thank my senior Kim Jae-won for his encouraging message from far away Porto before my first broadcast."
He added, "I was so nervous and overwhelmed during the first broadcast that I didn't know how it went. The weight of 'Morning Garden' is enormous, but I will overcome it with youth and vigor. I will continue to develop, so I may have many shortcomings, but please see me kindly. :)" He asked for the viewers' support.
Kim Jae-won served as the MC of 'Morning Garden' for about four and a half years from November 2008 to April 2013, and again faced morning viewers for seven years from May 2018. If we include the time he served as the MC of the Saturday 'Family Song Contest' corner from 1999 to 2005, he has kept the position of 'Morning Garden' for about 19 years.
However, after joining KBS as a new announcer in 1995, he decided to take an honorary retirement after 30 years, leaving the KBS where he had developed fond memories. He bid farewell to 'Morning Garden' viewers after his last broadcast on the 31st of last month, and Park Cheol-kyu, who had been the MC of 'Double Party' on Fridays since May, has officially joined as the MC.
On the 4th, Park Cheol-kyu appeared on 'Morning Garden' while singing 'How Old Am I?' and said, "I was born in 1991, and it's hard to believe that I am hosting 'Morning Garden,' which was born the same year as me, this program loved by the entire nation."
He added, "I was very worried if I could carry on my senior Kim Jae-won's sincerity and eloquence. I lost about 3kg over the last two weeks," he revealed, adding, "If there is anything I have, it would be my youth and vigor. I may have shortcomings, but I will do my best to deliver a lively morning to all of you. Please watch me kindly."
