Actor Jung In-sun recalled her childhood during a period of inactivity.
On the 5th, in the 'Tuesday Invitation' segment of KBS1's 'Morning Square', leading actors Jung Il-woo and Jung In-sun of KBS2's new weekend drama 'Our Golden Days' appeared to share various stories.
Jung In-sun started her acting career at age 6. She said, 'I have an older brother who is 4 years older than me, and he wanted to attend an acting academy featured in an ad in the school newspaper. At that time, I was following everything my brother did, wanting to surpass him, and I have continued acting until now. It wasn't difficult and was fun. I had a bit of a performer's streak and liked being class president,' and added, 'I made my debut around that time. Back then, there were not many laws protecting child actors, so it was hard, but since it was my first time acting, I had no comparison, and I naturally accepted it as something normal.'
However, Jung In-sun experienced a break from acting as she entered her adolescence. She said, 'I started taking a break around middle school and began again in high school. As I moved into the upper grades of elementary school, I realized I couldn't easily answer the question, 'What do I like?', and felt something was wrong. After moving, the change in environment intensified those feelings. New friends at my new school saw me as an 'entertainer', which made that interest a burden. At that time, as the concepts of being an actor or entertainer came into play, I felt confused and noticed my identity was shaking, leading to my hiatus.' She continued, 'My mother suggested that if I was going to quit, I should find another dream. She said leaving is easy, but returning isn't, so it might be difficult to face that, and I thought it wouldn't be easy to see. So I focused on my school life and tried to find my hobbies, which helped me get to know myself.'
Jung In-sun further explained her return, saying, 'Even when I travel, take photos, and watch movies, those experiences are delightful, yet they lead me to think, 'When it comes to this character, I should do it like this.' I realized that my thoughts inevitably lead back to acting.'
