Lalala recalled her difficult times before she succeeded as a creator.
In the broadcast on the 4th of Channel A's "Close Friends Documentary – Four-Person Table" (hereinafter referred to as Four-Person Table), Lalala appeared, inviting her close friends Lee Eun-hyung and Nabi to share their stories.
Lalala reflected on her past, saying, "I didn't want to endure. I didn't want to live long. I could endure when I dreamed of being a musical actress. After giving up and working in a company and factory, I thought, 'Why do I have to endure? Why should I live doing something I don't want to do?' I wondered, 'Why can't I choose death?' Each day was unhappy. It felt meaningless. I often thought, 'Do I really have to live?'"
Lalala said, "After I gave up, I found that I changed as a person. In internet broadcasts, people are not right in front of you. Then I slowly found myself again. When I'm struggling with the broadcast schedule, I think back to when I didn't want to open my eyes. It's like getting splashed with ice water; it snaps me awake. I think, 'I should be grateful' and spring up."
Lalala mentioned, "I gained 300,000 subscribers in three months. After that, there was no content. Since I lacked planning skills, my view counts dropped. Subscribers started to leave. So, I began talking about my own stories. When I shared my life experiences, I started getting attention. When I was about to reach 1 million, I invited international creators and had a strong presence. I achieved 100 million views overseas. With the tremendous increase in followers, I became a hot topic."
Lalala addressed her top alter ego, Lee Myung-hwa, saying, "It was interesting and fun to dress up and look different. I had never gained 20 kg before. I never expected it to become a huge success. At first, I didn't even add subtitles. I just wandered around near my house." Lalala expressed her gratitude for the immense interest and love, saying, "I'm so thankful."
Lalala said, "I want to quietly earn a lot of money. When I do live broadcasts, I often say, 'Everything looks great, cool, and happy, but we're all the same.' When I share my thoughts, many people resonate with me."
She continued, "The merchandise business went wrong, but many fans purchased it. I tried to have a 50% sale, but they said they would buy everything before the sale. I wondered if the world was this warm. I made a wrong choice, and it's something I have to deal with. It might have been easy to overlook, but many people helped me. I just think I lost that money. I will earn a lot of money and give something great back to my subscribers. I will return it all."
