Comedian Lee Sugeun's wife, Park Jiyeon, shed tears before her kidney transplant surgery.
Park Jiyeon shared a photo showing her in tears during a gathering with acquaintances before the surgery on 4th. Comedian Kim Min-gyeong encouraged her, saying, "There have been many twists and turns in this journey. Let's go, Yoni!"
Additionally, on the 5th, she revealed the items she prepared for her hospitalization, saying, "I really just need to get my body in. Thinking about how my sister, who found out that this was needed, prepared this makes me wonder how she felt."
She continued, "I feel like I'm going to cry, but I'll hold it in. Looking into the bag, I ultimately found myself overwhelmed in the morning. I'll cherish this feeling."
Park Jiyeon married Lee Sugeun in 2008 and has two sons. However, during the pregnancy of their second child in 2011, her kidney function deteriorated due to pregnancy-induced hypertension, leading to a life of battling illness. Though she received a kidney transplant from her father, it did not take well, and she continues to undergo dialysis treatment to this day.
In the meantime, she was advised by medical staff to consider a kidney transplant and applied to wait for a brain-dead donor, intending to receive a kidney from her biological brother in mid-August for her second surgery.
