Winner member Kang Seung-yoon transformed into a photographer.
On the 4th, the management corporation KPLUS announced that the exhibition "Art in the Middle," co-planned with the first Korean branch of ArtBooth Seoul at the UAE Abu Dhabi headquarters, was successfully completed.
This exhibition is breaking down the boundaries between art and pop culture, and it is being evaluated as an important foothold for Korean artists' market entry into the Middle East. Both parties established a close cooperation system through a strategic memorandum of understanding and accelerated the globalization of Korean contemporary art through this exhibition.
Participating in the exhibition were KPLUS representative artists Lee Yoon (Kang Seung-yoon), Kang Hee, Park Hong, Angelina Danilova, and guest artist Shin Woo-jae, who presented a new aesthetics that merges fashion, performance, and art based on their unique personalities and identities.
Lee Yoon, the leader of Winner and a solo artist, expressed his musical sensitivity through photography and captured the emotions of urban life in an analog way, delivering a deep resonance. Kang Hee solidified her position as an artist who gained attention at the 2023 international art event by completing an original painting style based on her experiences as a model and actress.
Angelina Danilova conveyed a modern sensibility that merges Eastern and Western aesthetics through illustrations and digital art, while Park Hong, who majored in Western painting, built an original artistic world by balancing modeling activities and artistic creation. Guest artist Shin Woo-jae garnered attention by expressing warm colors and delicate emotions using watercolors and mixed media, along with his unique background as a former soccer player.
The collaboration between KPLUS and ArtBooth Seoul is being evaluated as a significant first step toward entering the contemporary art market in the Middle East while implementing the independent artistic capabilities of leading domestic artists into specific exhibition content.
This exhibition was held free of charge with a reservation system, and visitors experienced the diverse perspectives presented by the five artists, receiving a warm response.
