The group IVE has set a new record on the Japanese Oricon chart.
According to an article from the Japanese Oricon on the 5th, IVE (An Yujin, Gaeul, Rae, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, Lee Seo) achieved approximately 165,000 sales in the first week of their third Japanese album 'Be Alright', ranking first in the 'Oricon Weekly Album Ranking' for the period from July 28 to August 3 (as of August 11).
This surpasses the first-week sales of their previous second Japanese album 'Alive', marking IVE's highest first-week sales for an album to date. Moreover, it confirms their outstanding popularity in Japan, as they recorded the highest first-week album sales among overseas female artists this year according to Oricon.
The new album 'Be Alright' consists of a total of five tracks, including the title track 'Be Alright', the OST 'Dare Me' from the Japanese NTV drama 'Dame Mane! - We Manage Non-Selling Talents!', and Japanese versions of 'Ascendio', 'Blue Heart', and 'WOW' from their second regular album 'IVE SWITCH'.
The title track 'Be Alright' conveys a message encouraging listeners not to fear change and to move forward, and it has received a warm response from global music fans, entering Billboard Japan's 'Hot 100', 'Hot Shot Songs', and 'Download Songs' charts since its pre-release on the 16th of last month.
As they demonstrate their global presence by standing out in various charts, IVE is set to make their first appearance at Japan's representative music festival 'Rock In Japan Festival 2025' on September 15. After showcasing an impressive performance at last year's 'Summer Sonic 2024', there are high expectations for what they will achieve at this festival.
IVE will release their fourth mini album 'IVE SECRET' and the title track 'XOXZ' in Korea on the 25th, gearing up for their domestic comeback activities.
