Actress Heo Ga-yoon, formerly of the group 4Minute, has returned as an essayist.
Heo Ga-yoon published an essay titled "I became most myself in the strangest sea" on the 28th of last month, chronicling her time spent in Bali, Indonesia. The book captures her journey of rediscovering herself on the stage of life after passing through the brilliant times of being in the spotlight.
Heo Ga-yoon met unexpected happiness in Bali during a time when she wanted to soothe her anxious heart and escape reality, even for a moment. The time that began with travel became familiar days and slowly transitioned into a routine, serving as the starting point for living "a genuinely happy life" rather than just an "appearing happy life."
Heo Ga-yoon, who met a new life in Bali, shares moments living as "Gaga" from Korea, rather than as an idol member or actress. Heo Ga-yoon's candid confessions reveal that it is more important to fully live in the present moment rather than feeling a rush to achieve something, and that the accumulation of those days shapes who she is now.

Heo Ga-yoon debuted as part of 4Minute in 2009 and took her first steps as an actress in the MBC drama "Light and Shadow" in 2012.
