The group BOYNEXTDOOR made a passionate presence at the world's largest music festival, Lollapalooza, which they were invited to for the first time. With outstanding vocal ability and a commanding stage presence, they captivated local audiences, once again proving themselves as a strong team.
BOYNEXTDOOR (Seongho, Riu, Myeongjae-hyun, Taesan, Lee Han, Unhak) took the stage at Lollapalooza Chicago in Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois, at approximately 4:15 a.m. (Korea time) on the 4th. Despite the hot weather, a crowd gathered like a massive cloud, and cheers for BOYNEXTDOOR echoed 30 minutes before the performance began. Local fans, wearing the team's official merchandise, were spotted sharing handmade cheer items throughout the venue. The performance was livestreamed on the global superfan platform Weverse and the team's YouTube channel, with viewers from 179 countries/regions worldwide, including Korea, the UK, France, Germany, Indonesia, and Japan, experiencing their global popularity. Numerous keywords related to the members and the performance trended on X (formerly Twitter) in real-time, drawing significant attention.
During the approximately one-hour performance, BOYNEXTDOOR delivered a total of 11 songs and showcased a fantastic stage. From the first song, "I Feel Good," to the end, there was a continuous chorus. The members' powerful live vocals, combined with the exciting beats and band performance, instantly elevated the atmosphere. They expressed strong confidence, saying, "We have been working hard for today. Performing on the Lollapalooza stage has a special meaning for us. We have prepared everything to show a wonderful performance, so we'll just enjoy it without needing anything else. We will show everything we have here and provide an unforgettable day."
The six members started with a performance-oriented stage, presenting emotional songs such as "123-78" and "Serenade," followed by the energetic "Earth, Wind & Fire" and the intense rock-sounding "What a Mess," skillfully controlling the stage. The audience enjoyed the performance without pause, singing along seamlessly to the Korean lyrics. When the members shouted, "Who's there?" the crowd responded boisterously, "BOYNEXTDOOR," creating a tight rhythm between the performers and the audience.
The audience swayed their hands side to side during "So let's go see the stars," letting the music take over, and they sang along through the rap parts of "Earth, Wind & Fire" to cherish the performance. Notably, the chorus of "I LOVE YOU Just for Today" shone during the a cappella singing. The audience passionately sang the chorus even before the official start of the stage, showcasing the grandeur of the hit song.
BOYNEXTDOOR expressed their enthusiasm in their closing remarks, saying, "This time spent together feels like a dream. Music has connected us with you. We want to perform again at Lollapalooza. BOYNEXTDOOR has established themselves as the 'next-generation performance powerhouse' after completing their first solo tour, "BOYNEXTDOOR TOUR 'KNOCK ON Vol. 1'" in July.
