Yum Jung-ah finally reveals her hidden true colors.
In the 5th episode of the ENA drama 'The Defects' airing at 10 p.m. today, Oct. 4 (Mon.), the 'refunded' children who dramatically survived make life-threatening decisions to save Kim Ah-hyun (played by Won Jina).
In the last episode, the children were shocked to witness the reality of a secret organization that conducts illegal adoption transactions targeting the upper class. Facing the horrific reality of children being bought and sold like auction items, Ah-hyun resolved to stop the system but ended up in a life-or-death situation after being discovered by Kim Se-hee (played by Yum Jung-ah) and Jung-hyun (played by Kim Jin-young).
Meanwhile, ahead of today's 5th episode, the revealed stills show Se-hee, who is displaying her cruel nature based on unethical beliefs.
On this day, Se-hee meets Kwon Gang-man (played by Son Jong-hak), a father of Seok-su (played by Oh Seung-jun) and someone who has built a political foundation through the network of the secret organization, to initiate serious action. Obsessed with the dangerous belief of creating 'perfect humans' through experimentation and control over respecting life, Se-hee's next move, which is chillingly cold and cruel enough to take viewers' breath away, raises more tension as the madness unfolds.
In particular, this episode adds interest as the trigger for revenge against the adoptive parents who destroyed the children is pulled again. The stark reality of adults pretending to live innocently and the fury of the young survivors clash violently, promising that the 5th episode will be a breathtaking turning point as the narrative of destruction is fully developed.
