Recently, broadcaster Lee Kyung-kyu, who was charged with drug driving, made a self-deprecating remark on 'My Little Old Boy.'
On the broadcast of SBS 'My Little Old Boy' on the 3rd, Lee Kyung-kyu appeared as a special MC and shared his thoughts.
On that day, Seo Jang-hoon asked Lee Kyung-kyu, 'Who is your favorite MC?' and spontaneously started the 'favorite MC World Cup.'
While choosing his favorite MC, Lee Kyung-kyu faced off against Tak Jae-hoon and said, 'I have done 'Healing Camp' and 'Bungeo-ppang' on SBS for 7–8 years. You can't bring Tak Jae-hoon here. How can Tak Jae-hoon be my opponent?'
However, when Lee Kyung-kyu faced Shin Dong-yup in the semifinals, he added, 'I have had some incidents lately, so I have improved a lot. I have become very nice in humble mode,' choosing Shin Dong-yup to elicit laughter.
Previously, Lee Kyung-kyu was charged with violating the Road Traffic Act for driving someone else's vehicle while under the influence of medication prescribed to him in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, on the 8th of last month.
In response, Lee Kyung-kyu claimed that the positive test was due to medication for panic disorder that he has been taking for more than 10 years. However, Article 45 of the Road Traffic Act strictly prohibits driving in a state that is difficult to drive normally due to the influence of drugs. Even if it is a prescription medication, if it affects cognition or concentration and one drives without realizing it, it counts as drug driving.
After the police investigation, Lee Kyung-kyu said, 'I did not properly recognize the fact that I should not drive while taking panic disorder medication. If any of the medications I am taking could affect my driving, I realized that I should refrain from driving. I will be careful in the future' and added, 'I sincerely apologize for disappointing the fans who have believed in and supported me for a long time,' bowing his head.
Recently, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul stated that Lee Kyung-kyu was sent for prosecution without detention for violating the Road Traffic Act. Meanwhile, Lee Kyung-kyu humorously responded to fans who were worried about him on YouTube, saying, 'The worst worry one should not have in this world is worrying about celebrities.'
