The group Even has revealed that they enjoy watching 'Boys 2 Planet.'
Recently, Even held an interview at a cafe in Gangnam, Seoul, to commemorate the release of their fifth mini album 'LOVE ANECDOTE(S)' and shared their thoughts about the new album.
Debuting in 2023, Even is a seven-member boy group consisting of members Keita, Park Han-bin, Lee Jeong-hyun, Yoo Seung-eun, Ji Yoon-seo, Moon Jeong-hyun, and Park Ji-hoo, who displayed their capabilities by granting on Mnet's 'Boys Planet.' They emerged in the K-POP scene with the concept of being mischievous and have built their unique image with bold and youthful energy.
Shortly after their debut, Even successfully held solo fan meetings simultaneously in Korea and Japan, followed by Asian and American tours, proving their identity as 'performance idols.' They enhanced their stage skills with outstanding performances and live abilities. The global tour that started in April is set to expand to the U.S. and Europe, visiting a total of 13 cities sequentially throughout October.
When asked about Even's unique strengths in the global stage, Yoo Seung-eun noted, "I think our strength lies in our sharp choreography. I also believe that live performance is essential, and I want to appeal that we are a team that can perform well live. Fans abroad also seem to like us. I think that if we show our stages in various places, we can be better known."
Moon Jeong-hyun added, "I believe our members' strength is that we enjoy ourselves on stage. This includes communicating with fans and our ability to handle mistakes. I think our strength is that we can enjoy the stage while doing well. Fans often tell us that we perform better on larger stages, and it's clear that we perform even better in big venues. I believe our strength lies in being able to perform well on larger stages."
As the members approach their second anniversary in September, they expressed, "We are grateful that our fans have loved us for a long time. Having made our names known through broadcasts and our debut, I feel there is a strong bond between us and our fans, so I think we are a team that has a close relationship. Over the past two years, I have felt grateful even though we may have been busy. Although being busy can strain the body, we appreciate that we have been able to make ourselves known. As much as our fans trust and expect us, we are working hard to show great music and a creative style."
Recently, as the new season of Mnet's 'Boys 2 Planet' has started, attracting the attention of many global K-POP fans, Even members also mentioned that they are enjoying Season 2, saying, "It's really different being a participant versus an outsider. Because we know what everyone is going through, we can relate to even small actions. We feel a strong desire to cheer them on."
Yoo Seung-eun said, "As participants of the same program, we are watching it with interest and supporting the contestants. We hope everyone does well. What I want to say is that it's not over until it's over; you can't measure how long or short it is until the end, so I want to tell them that if they don't give up on their dreams, good results will follow."
He continued, "In a way, I wanted to return as a trainee after not being able to debut, and I had aspirations to appear in a more impressive form. I believe that because of that time, I have been able to be active for the past two years. I hope all contestants do well."
Lee Jeong-hyun also stated, "I've consistently followed the broadcast since the first episode, and I was inspired by the fact that not just trainees but also experienced individuals are participating. I want to tell them not to give up. I always found myself in risky ranks during the broadcast. I could have given up, but I persevered until the end and did what I could, which is how I made it to the finals. So, I want to urge them not to give up."
Park Han-bin expressed, "I feel a renewed sense of wonder because I have become a star creator. I hope to approach my goal of debuting sincerely and do my best. It's fun to be a star creator. A trainee from our company regarded me as a role model. I want to cheer for that kid."
Through this fifth album, Even is set to present a new twist with more refined visuals and high-quality music. They have returned with a more mature image while incorporating a restrained mood and detailed nuances, moving away from the rough and playful energy they previously emitted.
When asked if there is something they especially want to hear from fans, Yoo Seung-eun replied, "I want to hear that we are sexy. Since we are usually very innocent and tend to play like little kids when filming content or chatting with each other, fans tend to find us very cute. I think there needs to be a twist on stage to clearly showcase that, so I want to show a sexy and relaxed side on stage while keeping the approachable and friendly vibe we have off stage."
Park Han-bin mentioned, "I want to hear that I have shown a new side compared to before," while Ji Yoon-seo added, "I want to hear that I'm proud to be a fan of Even. Although fans often tell us this, when we make our comeback, I want to make it so that they can still say that they are proud to be a fan, even when we return."
