Actor Kang Ji-seob revealed his feelings after leaving the Christian Gospel Mission (JMS) and started to make accusations.
On the afternoon of the 4th, Kang Ji-seob appeared in the comprehensive channel MBN entertainment program 'Oh Eun-young Stay', drawing attention. After the allegations about JMS believers in 2023, Kang Ji-seob went on air to share his thoughts directly.
On this day's broadcast, Mun Se-yoon, Ko So-young, and Oh Eun-young expressed their surprise and joy at Kang Ji-seob's appearance. Kang Ji-seob first opened up by saying, "I thought I was on the right path, but it turned out to be the wrong one, and I was stigmatized due to ignorance."
Earlier, Kang Ji-seob was embroiled in controversy after the release of the 2023 Netflix documentary 'I'm God: The People Betrayed by God', facing allegations of being a believer in JMS. This was due to a Jesus statue frame that was speculated to be associated with JMS, which Kang Ji-seob had previously revealed in an entertainment program.
Subsequently, Kang Ji-seob faced allegations of being a JMS believer and stated directly on social media, "Why was it kept in storage when it should have been thrown away long ago?" alongside a photo of a torn Jesus statue frame, announcing his departure from the group.
At that time, Kang Ji-seob's agency also told OSEN, "It is true that Kang Ji-seob attended JMS in the past. He attended with a pure heart, but over time he realized something was wrong, and it is said that he withdrew about five years ago. Currently, he is completely unrelated to that religion," adding, "Kang Ji-seob said he was shocked after watching 'I'm God'. Although he had already left due to issues in the past, he did not expect it to be this severe."
In 'Oh Eun-young Stay', Kang Ji-seob is expected to discuss why he became a JMS believer and the circumstances at that time. In a preview released at the end of the broadcast, Kang Ji-seob recalled becoming a JMS believer during college, mentioning that he received malicious comments like, "Are you colluding with the leader? How many women did you offer up?"
Kang Ji-seob then shared, "One person was extremely kind to me. But it turned out that person was a con artist. I lost all the money I earned from dramas to scams, thinking, 'Should I not be in this world?'" expressing his feelings by saying, "It really makes me want to vomit."
