Park Yu-chun revealed a recent photo on his social media on the 2nd, accompanied by the message, "Are you ready, Osaka?" In the photo, he transformed with silver hair and a bare face without makeup. Born in 1986, Park Yu-chun has now entered his 40s, but his face looks unrecognizably aged, possibly due to his history with drugs, shocking viewers.
The photo taken with his younger brother, actor Park Yu-hwan, is also impressive. Park Yu-hwan and Park Yu-chun stand side by side with a night view behind them, exuding brotherly affection. As they are biological brothers, their similar visuals stand out, but both having a history with drugs leaves a slight disappointment.
Park Yu-chun was at the center of numerous controversies in June 2016 due to allegations of sexual assault. He received non-indictment rulings for four cases related to rape, but in 2019, he was indicted for methamphetamine use and sentenced to 10 months in prison with a 2-year suspended sentence. He has once again betrayed fans who supported him through his marriage revocation and sexual crime allegations.
At the time, Park Yu-chun even held an emergency press conference, claiming, "I have never used drugs. If I did, I would retire," but he tested positive for drugs, acknowledging the allegations. As a result of the investigation, he was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a 2-year suspended sentence, as well as probation, drug treatment, and a fine of 1.4 million won for violating the drug control law.
Released on probation, Park Yu-chun established an agency with a long-time manager in 2021. Having effectively been expelled from the entertainment industry, he reversed his retirement statement a year after his period of self-reflection and resumed activities mainly overseas. However, he encountered disputes with his agency, and issues arose when all content related to Park Yu-chun, including photos and videos uploaded earlier, were deleted.
In 2023, the National Tax Service even revealed that Park Yu-chun was listed among high-value habitual delinquents, shocking many by announcing that he owed 490 million won in unpaid taxes. According to the National Tax Service, Park Yu-chun has owed a total of five taxes since 2016, including capital gains tax. Along with drug allegations, the emergence of unpaid tax issues after being cleared of sexual crime allegations has led to great disappointment among many.
If it weren't for the drug issues, their chemistry might have been stronger than any other siblings. The bitterness fans feel towards the Park Yu-chun and Park Yu-hwan brothers is growing.
