What will the sequel to 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' look like, as predicted by pop columnist Kim Tae-hoon and film critics?
On the broadcast of KBS 1TV movie talk show 'Life is a Movie' on the 2nd, a sharp and delightful talk unfolded covering everything from the hidden details of the globally sweeping K-culture animation 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (hereinafter 'Kedehun') to expectations for its sequel.
On this day, Kim Tae-hoon praised 'Kedehun', the first overseas animated production based on K-pop idols, saying, "The 1 hour and 40 minutes were not boring at all." He commented on the OST from the works that topped the Billboard charts, saying, "Scenes well-crafted like music videos perfectly blend with the film's narrative, turning the movie into a great example of 'experience' rather than just 'viewing'."
Film critic Liner also noted, "The stage direction is not a joke in addition to the music," adding, "If it had been even a bit awkward, it would have felt childish; it truly feels like watching a K-pop stage."
Praise also followed for the OST sung by 'Lion Boys' and 'HuntRix'. Liner said, "The formula for Lion Boys' success reminds me of Dongbang's 'Hug' and BLACKPINK," stating, "The strategy of drawing in the public with soda pop and then closing the door with Your Idol is perfect."
Kim Tae-hoon mentioned the legendary hip-hop duo 'Dues' in Korea, stating, "I felt a respect for the roots and beginnings of K-pop."
Meanwhile, discussions also arose about the unending popularity of Lion Boys and Duffy, as well as the possibility of a series for 'Kedehun'.
Liner mentioned, "In the sequel, we might expect a joint stage from Lion Boys and HuntRix," adding, "These characters are too precious to just kill off."
In response, Kim Tae-hoon said, "I've heard that the people involved are talking about a sequel," and went on to speculate that other groups besides HuntRix might appear to attempt a universe expansion.
Along with this, when Liner referred to the tiger character Duffy, which caused chaos in the merchandise market, Kim Tae-hoon, smiling like a proud dad, said, "(Duffy) just rolled his eyes a few times and set a pot down a few times to end." He confessed that he was already caught up in the endless charm of 'Kedehun'.
